Yeah, the internet can be a scary place.

Your domain is that “www.awesomewebsite.com” thing you buy with your organization’s name in it. This gets connected to your hosting + SSL. If your web hosting is your car’s engine and your SSL is your umbrella insurance, think of your domain as the key to start the engine.
